Hi, I’m Whitney.
I am a small business owner, a community volunteer, and most importantly, a mother.
I never imagined I'd be running for mayor. But when I look into my children's eyes each morning, I see the future of our town reflected back at me. I'm not running for office because of politics—I'm running because of them. Every child deserves what my kids have: tree-lined streets for summer shade, clearly marked crosswalks where drivers slow down and wave, and neighborhoods filled with adults who know their names and look out for them.
With over 20 years of working in politics and local government, I’ve worked to get priorities across the finish line and effectively get things done for the communities I've served. I’m running for Mayor of Tacoma because I believe our city needs bolder, collaborative leadership. In these uncertain times and with a weaponized federal government that is attacking our way of life, we must forge rock solid partnerships with other jurisdictions and organizations if we are going to keep communities safe and keep delivering results for every Tacoman.

Initiatives for Tacoma
Prioritizing Community Safety
As Mayor, I will lead a truth and reconciliation process for our community and police department. Together, we will re-build trust with our law enforcement officers and invest in all of our community’s safety.
Increasing Summer Childcare
Families are struggling with the burden of childcare - especially in the summer. I will work with agencies, families and non-profits to to create safe, inclusive spaces with moderate investments.
Foster Economic
Growth
Our city needs a fresh focus on revenue generation to address areas of systemic need. Much of this can be done by growing areas of our economy where we haven’t fully realized our potential to do great things.
The most powerful question I ask myself isn't "Can I win this election?" but rather "What kind of community will our children grow up in?"
My candidacy is my promise to every family: your children deserve the same opportunities as mine. Together, we can build streets where kids ride bikes, neighborhoods filled with beauty, and a community where every child knows they belong.
